“Smaller wineries rely more on DTC than larger ones. The higher margins in DTC enable stronger financial health for smaller wineries that don't realize the benefits of moving more volume through distribution. Wineries that generate over 25,000 cases annually distribute mainly (>50%) through wholesale channels. This jumps to >70% at production volumes over 100,000 annually.”
