New Calif “Instructional Tasting” License To Benefit Suppliers & Retailers in 2011

California retailers who want to hold instructional tastings for customers will no longer need permanent partitions in their stores or to apply for multiple  temporary licenses thanks to AB605 which takes effect Jan. 1, 2011.

While the new license type doesn’t actually allow the retailer themselves to conduct a tasting (except under one special circumstance), it does authorize them to invite most manufacturers and suppliers of wine, beer, and spirits suppliers  to supply beverages and conduct the tastings.
