Little Orphan Winery: For Sale (Again! Still!)

Running through more tomorrows than Little Orphan Annie, Mobius-Painter Vineyard and Winery is for sale yet again. This after investor infighting and buyer equivocation sent two potential buyers heading for the hills, one of them leaving $300,000 on the table.

On its face, the 15-acre parcel of vacant land — owned by the Winery Disposition Group (WDG) — seems like a sure profit generator, located as it is on Highway 12 at the northern end of Sonoma Valley with vested use and building permits approved for a 125,000-case winery, tasting room and up to 20 public events per year with up to 250 people per event.

But the sale out of bankruptcy has been plagued by controversy, charges of missing funds, conspiracy and delays that have so far stymied the completion of a sale.
