We're Hiring a Newsletter Editor

Wine Industry Insight is Looking to Hire an Editor

Newsletter Editor (Part-time/Remote)

Wine Industry Insight is looking to hire an Editor for its “Daily News Feed” newsletter. This is a permanent, part-time role (10-20 hours per week) and can be done from anywhere - Bordeaux, Burgundy, Paso Robles, Rioja, the Finger Lakes - as long as you have a good Internet connection.

With an open rate of ~35% each day, Wine Industry Insight is the newsletter 25,000 wine industry professionals trust and rely on as their daily source of pertinent wine industry news and insight. You can see previous examples of the newsletter in our online archive.

What You’ll Be Doing

Each weekday, you’ll curate and assemble the daily newsletter, pulling news, opinion, and insight from across the web. You’ll preview, categorize and prioritize stories, edit and wordsmith titles and thumbnails, and come up with a headline title and subtitle for the newsletter. You’ll assemble the newsletter in a modern, delightful-to-use email authoring platform, proofread it, send yourself a test, and when it passes your rigorous quality control standards, send it to our 25,000 subscribers.

Who You Are

This is a unique role, well-suited for a unique individual. Likely, you are someone who:

  • Is self-directed and detail-oriented

  • Can work under tight deadlines (we send the newsletter by 8:45 am PST each day)

  • Has some experience in journalism as a writer, copywriter, copy editor, content creator, or blogger

  • Loves wine and the wine industry

  • Is passionate about the creator economy

  • Ideally (nice to have, not mandatory) has some experience in the wine industry (i.e. studied viticulture & enology, worked a harvest, poured wine in a tasting room, studied for the WSET, etc.)

How to Respond If Interested

If this role excites you, please send your cover letter, resume, and any samples of your work (as attachments, or a link to your portfolio, etc.) to me via email:
