ST HELENA, CA – November 8, 2011 –Allen Wine Group LLP (, a leading wine industry-focused CPA firm, is pleased to announce that the firm has expanded and hired two new professionals: senior manager Gina Carte, and staff accountant Mary Som. Founded and guided by managing partner Timothy Allen, Allen Wine Group provides business advisory services to its portfolio of winery clients, as well as traditional CPA firm services such as audit, review and tax. With the appointment of Carte and Som, the firm will expand its advisory service roles, and now offer contract controller work and bookkeeping, in addition to contract CFO work.

As a wine-industryfocused firm, this expanded range of professional services provides a turn-key solution to the Allen Wine Group’s portfolio of clients, which focuses on small to mid-size family wineries. “There is a critical need for outsourced controller and bookkeeping services in the wine industry. The addition of Gina Carte as our senior manager and Mary Som as staff accountant allows Allen Wine Group to comprehensively address this need. Winery clients are able to work with our wine industry accounting professionals without the in-house financial and employee commitment,” says Allen. “Collectively, our team offers clients unsurpassed experience, professional service and complete wine-industry focus, at very competitive rates.”

Carte comes to Allen Wine Group as a CPA with nearly a decade of CPA firm experience, most recently with the wine division of Moss-Adams. Som comes to the firm from Sonoma State University. Both will work directly with Allen. As a licensed CPA with a MS Taxation, Timothy Allen brings two decades of CPA and winery financial services experience to his role as the managing partner for the Allen Wine Group. Allen began his career in 1992, at the “Big Four” CPA firm of Deloitte & Touche, where he developed a specialization in the wine industry while working in the audit and tax departments for five years. Building on this specialization, Allen began working directly for wineries beginning in 1997, first as the controller for La Crema (Kendall-Jackson). He later held positions as CFO for Sonoma-Cutrer, operations & finance director for Arrowood (Robert Mondavi) and CFO for Rosenblum Cellars. Directly prior to founding the Allen Wine Group in 2008, Allen was president and CFO for Kuleto Estate Family Vineyards.
