Wakefield Wines Selects New Importer, Distributors

Wakefield Wines of Clare Valley, Australia has selected American Wine Distributors (AWD) as its exclusive U.S. importer, and also named distributors in several states. Wakefield was previously distributed by Brown-Forman Beverages.

AWD ( is based in San Francisco, and has represented Wakefield at other times.

“As one of Australia’s first families of wine, we’re excited to see the level of trade support we are receiving, and the continued high acclaim for our wines, as our new partners introduce consumers to the Wakefield range of wines, including Promised Land, the Estate Series and the limited release St. Andrews wines, among the most honored in the world,” said Justin Taylor, US Business Development Manager and a company director.

Wakefield’s Promised Land series retails at $11.99 and includes an unwooded Chardonnay, Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon and off-dry Riesling; the Estate series is $16.99 and includes award-winning Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Riesling; the St. Andrews offerings currently include limited US releases of Shiraz ($50), Cabernet Sauvignon ($50) and Riesling ($30). An Estate Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc will be introduced in the US later this year.
