Bright Cellars Moves to #17 in Top 20 Wine Venture Fundings with $8.5 million round
Milwaukee-based Bright Cellars announced a $8.5 million Series A round last week, bringing their funding total to at least $13.46 million. That total moves them into #17 in Wine Industry Insight's WineTech Finding series.
That funding, led by AOL co-founder Steve Case's D.C.-based Revolution Ventures, put Bright ahead of Saucey and knocked Wine Communications Group out of the 20 largest fund raisers.

SEC Form D filings
Among the funding sources located by Wine Industry Insight were five SEC Form D offerings. Wine Industry Insight emailed Bright Cellars to ask whether or not the fundings, (table below) below, were additional funds raised, or were fully accounted for in the table above.
Bright Cellars did not respond.

In addition, articles that contain premium content will also be in the "Features" category on the Wine Industry Insight web site.
Why 2 billing systems?
Because our billing company of the past nine years was bought by a company that does not accept American Express, we have had to change our subscription process, and the method of accessing premium content. (Here’s more about that.)
