    SOURCE: Morning Consult Intelligence

Last week, Daily Data published a Gallup Chart -- Americans still prefer beer over wine and spirits -- that seemed to clash with an equally recent one from another major polling company that has spirits and cocktails at #1, beer #2 and wine coming in last.

To determine the reasons for the variance, Wine Industry Insight contacted the survey company, Morning Consult Intelligence which conducts brand and other polling for more than a thousand prominent corporations including many in the Fortune Global 500.

Their spokesman -- T. Anthony Paterson -- told WII in an email that: "Gallup asked different questions than we did so there's really no comparing the two reports. Gallup also surveyed respondents 18 years and up and we surveyed adults 21 years and old."
