TODAY'S FEATURED WINE

Back in the 1980s I discovered Nonino & thought it the best grappa in the world.

Back then it also came in a beautiful hand-blown bottle, (r).

Nonino now comes in a squat ugly container & has acquired a rough edge on the palate ($75).

Prohibition Spirits now makes a far smoother and better grappa ($45).

Better taste, better price! What's not to love? (Besides seeing a once stellar grappa descend into ordinary). -LP
