SUMMARY:

Red Flag winds out of the NNE propelled flames into the Northeast corner of the City of Sonoma, prompting an urgent immediate new mandatory evacuation order for the mostly upscale homes, mansions and ranches that populate the heavily wooded area.

Cal Fire has issued an "all hands on deck" order for all resources to prevent the fire from advancing. Napa and Sonoma Sheriffs report additional deaths, bringing total to 32 across the five wine country counties affected.

Acreage burned increases substantially, but so have containment numbers.

STATUS UPDATE October 14 (9:29 am):

  • Death toll: 32 (Sheriffs statements - Sonoma County: 19, Mendocino County:9, Napa County: 4)
  • Containment (CalFire): 10-90% depending on fire. Tubbs at 44%, Atlas at 45%, Nuns at 10%
