System Backup Killed TTB Computers. Don't Expect COLAs before Monday
Screen Shot 2017-03-10 at 3.19.12 PM The TTB system outage this week that thwarted access to permits Online and to Certificates of Label Approval is the result of a backup gone bad. 

 "We experienced technical difficulties while performing a backup of our systems," said , TTB spokesman Tom Hogue in reply to Wine Industry Insight's query about the problems.  

Wineries WII spoke with Friday afternoon said they were having intermittent problems with the permit system, but it seemed to be improving.

"The amount of image data involved with COLAs Online in particular has complicated our efforts to put that system back in service," said Hogue.

"We regret the inconvenience that the systems outages have caused industry members and are working diligently to have COLAs Online back in service on Monday, March 13. 

Hogue added that, "We will make every effort to ensure timely processing of any applications affected by these systems outages."
