TODAY'S FEATURED WINE
Lewis Perdue's Rating of Cline Cellars: Grenache: Contra Costa County - California: : 2013: United States
This is the first time Cline has released a 100% Grenache which they usually blend with their other reds.
Intense but well balanced ... like a Calder mobile in a hurricane ... somehow able to keep a lot of flavor and fruit under control and smooth... not a "big" wine, but one with depth ...
Closed-in when first opened it needs to be open for several hours for the magic to develop ...
Nice cherry and strawberry with a little mint julep in the background. Kind of steep for my wallet at $45, but certainly not a disappointment at that price.
REVIEW POLICY:
For winery tasting samples, gifts from friends or family or samplings at a party or event, review it truthfully, but only if I like it. If I have paid my own very-hard-earned money on a bottle, the gloves are off and it gets what it deserves ... whether perfect or puerile.
