NEWS FETCH PLAYLIST:

While creating this issue, I liked this song best: The Flame  By Cheap Trick.

TODAY'S FEATURED WINE

Subtle cassis and anise fruit with smooth tannins that fade quickly. Fairly well balanced but disappointing depth. 50% Syrah, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Petit Verdot.

Retail ranges from $44 to $49. We bought a bottle at Ca' Dario in Santa Barbara. And to their credit, it was $48 on their wine list.

NOTE to rip-off restauranteurs who overcharge by 2X, 3X and 4X retail: There were one or more bottles of wine at nearly every Ca' Dario table.

They encourage wine purchases with reasonable mark-ups and sell a helluva lot of really good vino as a result. Oh, that and superb food encourages loyalty and return customers. I rarely visit SB with out a meal there.
