My name's Lewis Perdue. I'm the News Fetch founder and editor. I'm also the founder (and former owner) of Wine Business Monthly and have been in the wine business since 1983, as a hands-on wine business owner, and as a journalist.
I also understand the "dirt on boots" part of wine because I grew up in a farming family, graduated from the Ag School at Cornell and worked for Cooperative Extension part-time as a student.
To create News Fetch, I manually visit more than 250 web sites each morning starting at 4 a.m. and personally select each link with one thing in mind: "would this be valuable for you at work today?"
You can check out the back issues online to get a better idea of what will arrive in your email box.
If you'd like the news, but would rather not get our daily email, please [UNSUBSCRIBE] then, access News Fetch in 4 more ways:
- View NewsFetch Back Issues online,
- Read the articles online at Wine Industry Insight (look for "News Fetch" in the right-hand column.

I really hope you will find News Fetch's valuable and occasionally amusing. I look forward to helping you stay current and maintain your edge, day by day and link by link.
Finally, whether you subscribe or not, please let me hear from you. News Fetch got to the top by serving its readers and listening to their feedback and tips. That's really easy because you can always email me directly by clicking "reply" to any email. All Best Wishes For A Great Year,
Lew Perdue

NEWS FETCH'S FAVORITE SONG TODAY:
While creating this issue, I liked this song best: Precious Declaration By Collective Soul.
TODAY'S FEATURED WINE
Two wine dogs.
Alex our giant Golden Retriever sniffs cork.
Approves even though this wine is NOT a dog. (Pause a moment to think about that.)
Intense. Over-fruity on opening, but that quickly blows off to deep, rich, dusty, pomegranate fruit and steel tannins in a velvet glove.
Joseph Filippi 2009 Old Vine, Cucamonga Valley Zinfandel, Jim Clark Vineyard, Estate Bottled. $28.95 retail. (Winery Tasting sample).
Kristina Filippi, Winemaker, Label by Jared Filippi. Dedicated to Elisa Elena Filippi, the new 6th generation member of the family. whole insane operation run by Joseph.
