Last night's dinner wine was the rest of the bottle of: Angove Family Winemakers: Grenache/Syrah: South Australia: Nine Vines: 2008: Australia
Below is how we save our left-over wine now: either in smaller bottles or with glass marbles to raise the ullage when a small bottle doesn't work.
We found that the vacuum devices suck out volatile aromatics and leave the wine flat. Canned gases reduce oxidation, but do nothing for aromatics loss. We did like the Wine Shield floating discs, but they seem to be unavailable these days.
